Tom & Tanzi were fantastic! Knowledgeable and friendly. And the wines are so good. Plan to spend at least an hour here!And they sell wines by the glass and also G&Ts.

I found the service person was not polite and not helpful. The advertised price of a bottle of Cooks Lot shiraz was $35. After the bottle was opened an extra $20 was added with no explanation.When this was later queried, the staff said this charge was to drink on the premises - to cover cleaning costs. The difference in price was not documented, not advertised nor made clear before the extra $20 was charged. Disappointing visit to Ferment!!
A great way to try out a variety of local wines, especially from the smaller boutiques. But I found the service a little lacking and not particularly engaging. He seemed more concerned with the other (older) customers than us - perhaps some age bias against us, despite us purchasing several bottles.
I have been buying wine from Simon for the last three years and have found him to be both supportive and professional on all occasions. He is passionate about the wines of the region and liaises with many of the winemakers on a regular basis. Ferment offers an interesting selection of both local, interstate and imported wines. This place is definitely worth a look.
